Bromsgrove has extensive expertise in the design and production of planters, cisterns, and accessories. Our foundry uses age-old sand casting, as well as several other casting methods. We make patterns using modern computer-based numerical techniques – but also employ traditional hand fabrication for our lead cisterns and all of our other products as well.
If a designer needs a piece which is not currently in our catalogue, we will work with them to modify an existing design or create an entirely new one. The modifications can be as simple as adding feet to an existing planter, or changing the drainage provisions. It can also be as extensive as the production of totally new pieces, such as custom cisterns made to specification.

Custom Planters
The landscape architect designing common areas of a prestigious condominium building wanted a variety of planters with a common design theme. The project included large planters that conformed to existing structures, as well as simpler pieces such as window boxes and planters for formal entranceways. All decorative elements, top, and base trims were common for continuity. The large planters were complicated, 6 ½ by 5 feet, 3 feet high, and included 9 sides – one of which was curved.

We are frequently asked to produce planters to conform to the needs of a specific site or to the criteria of a designer. Among the unusual shapes are an ellipse, a quadrant, an octagon and a semi circular cistern.

Hand Fabricated Custom Urn
An interior designer sought two urns which were derivatives of an 18th century European design and which were considerably larger than those in our existing catalog. We fabricated them by hand.
